Australian Government Organisations Register

http://www.finance.gov.au/resource-management/governance/agor/

This information (names, ABNs, descriptions, budgets, headcount) would be extremely valuable basic data for open government projects but the copyright page says "You may download, display, print and reproduce this material in unaltered form only (retaining this notice) for your personal, non-commercial use or use within your organisation. Actually Tax Rate Paid by Companies by Sector

Although the ATO publishes the Tax rate companies are supposed to pay. It would be useful for the public to have access to the actual rates being paid by different sectors of industry etc. That is it may be the case that some industries on avaerage pay far less than the ATO's rate.

AEC - Raw voting data

The AEC has been reported as having a program, EasyCount, for calculating election results, into which the raw voting data is entered.

This raw data, as input, should be released, allowing analysis of preference trends, comparison of alternative counting methods, and verification of the AEC software.

Voting data is already anonymous, so there should be no privacy implications.

Provide computer-readable public holiday information

Currently, the SA government provides a XML feed of public holiday information, but this information is incomplete because it doesn't indicate part-day holidays (New Year's Eve and Christmas Eve) in a structured format. It is also a homebrew XML format, requiring a special module in order to parse, making it difficult to use. I'm proposing that there be a data feed for all states and territories in Australia, in the ...more »
