Organisations sometimes change name: It would be nice if I could trace "previously known as" and "subsequently known as" relatiohsnips between organisations. Taking this a step further, full Machinery of Government changes would also be good ("merged with", "split from" etc). The temporal scope of these MoG changes is also optentially interesting. When the organisation-graph changes, who has reasponsability for the... more »
It would be fantastic if I could obtain a regular update of federal members of parliament and their current positions.
All data hosted by data.gov.au which contains spatial/GIS information should be made available through the data.gov.au geoserver. This will allow the data to be programmatically accessed and consumed via web applications instead of requiring manual download and processing of data.

I am Fayaz doing master of technology in Federation University Australia. As I am currently working on my projects I would like to propose the new system to make use of wastages.
Do I please get the big National wide wastage data for my project?
Is there a data set which includes payment data for the following data set
Each dataset in data.gov.au has an "Explore" button with "Preview" and "download" functions. The Download function, however, usually does not download a file but instead loads the file in my web browser. This occurs with all CSV and other text files. To get a file download I have to click on "Explore" then without moving the mouse fright-click on "Download" which is somewhat tricky for me. Can the download function... more »
I found it difficult to find the organisation I was looking for, because it changed names again (it seems to do this every couple of years or so, like so many other government departments).

ASIC statistics and reports - market supervision, consumer reports, enforcement outcomes
I posted this list quite some time ago. Is there any chance someone can work through them ? No need for exhaustive analysis - just a quick response would do. Anyway, here's another suggestion: In the data.gov.au blog there is reference to seeking feedback on dataset quality [https://blog.data.gov.au/news-media/blog/improving-data-quality-datagovau]. Can the facility for providing feedback be provided on the landing... more »
it would be nice to be able to share snippets of code for data cleaning, parsing, visualization and analysis with other users.
With syntax support for languages like R and python.
See github's 'gist" feature, for an example of what I mean.
Other users should also be able to comment on posted scripts.
I am doing a research project and would like the coordinates data the underpins that Department of Comms Internet availability and quality data set (e.g. Telstra ESA and DA geographic coordinates).
Just wondering if there is any information available to explain exactly what each of the metadata fields means, particularly the 'Additional info' section. For example, is there any difference between Organisation and Publisher/Agency? What exactly is Source telling us?
Now that the PSMA Administrative boundaries are out as well as the ABS boundaries - it would be great if you could search data.gov.au by the boundary the data is aggregated to.
e.g. I want to search for locality level datasets; or I want to search for local government level datasets
